Maya Hayes
MPH, Certified Nutrition Educator
Thanks for visiting my website.  My passion in life is healthy living, good food, and helping other people live their healthiest and best self.  I am a Certified Nutrition Educator (though Bauman College in Penngrove) and I have my MPH through UC Berkeley. I have been working in weight loss and management since 2010, and I love helping people achieve their goals.  The important part is not just the loss, but the maintenance of your new, improved lifestyle.
I struggled with an eating disorder and negative body image through most of my teens and early 20s. After I recovered from the eating disorder I refused to look at my weight on a scale for 8 years.  In 2009 I began to study nutrition in earnest and eventually made friends with the scale and food again. I now maintain a healthy weight, weigh myself regularly, and have a positive relationship with food.  This experience really made me want to help others achieve the same.
I live in Petaluma with my husband, our two dogs, and our children Everly and Easton.  A couple of my favorite workouts include Baby Boot Camp, OrangeTheory and the Dailey Method (if you haven't tried these feel free to ask me about them!), love to hike, horseback ride, and ski.  I also enjoy cooking, creating my own as well as trying new recipes  - look for interesting recipes soon on my blog.
The goal of my website is to be a resource for clients and an entertaining read for anyone who drops by.  As your coach and nutritionist I will work alongside you to help you create an approach that fits into your lifestyle.  This is not an all or nothing approach, I don't expect you to drop everything to focus only on your goals. I know that you have a life - let's make that life healthier!
